FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything writers ask before moving a newsletter over — your list, your sending identity, billing, and how we measure what actually matters.

Getting started & migrating your list

Can I bring my existing subscriber list?
Yes. Import your list as a CSV with an email column and a name column — any extra columns (like company or signup date) come along as custom fields. We deduplicate within your workspace and skip invalid addresses, then show you a summary of exactly what imported. Files up to 50MB.
Do imported subscribers need to confirm their subscription?
No. Imported subscribers are added to your list right away — there’s no confirmation step. Because of that, only import a list you already have permission to email.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The Free plan is genuinely free and never expires — no card required. Build your list and publish first, then decide on Pro.
Is my list locked in if I want to leave?
Never. Export your subscribers as a CSV anytime from the Subscribers page — email, name, status, tags, join date, and source. No lock-in, no export wall.

Your sending identity

What is a “sending identity”?
It’s the name and address your newsletter sends from. On hadeel, your newsletter sends as your brand name from your own handle on our shared, authenticated sending domain (like yourname@mail.hadeel.studio), with your own reply-to — so readers see you in the inbox.
Do I have to set up DNS, SPF, or DKIM?
No. hadeel.studio is already authenticated (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC) and warmed, and every newsletter sends through it — there’s nothing for you to configure.
Can I use my own custom domain?
Sending from your own branded domain is on our roadmap. Today, every newsletter sends from your brand name and handle on the verified hadeel.studio domain, set up for you.
Why does sending identity matter for deliverability?
Mailbox providers decide inbox-versus-spam partly on a consistent, authenticated, well-warmed sending domain. By sending everyone through one such domain (hadeel.studio), we help your writing actually land in the inbox — without you ever touching a DNS record.

Pro billing & Whop

How does Pro pricing work?
Pro is a flat $29.99/month — no per-subscriber tiers, no surprises at renewal, and 0% platform fees on your revenue. You upgrade right inside the app.
Why do you use Whop for payments?
We use Whop, a trusted payments platform, to handle Pro billing securely. Your card details go straight to Whop’s PCI-compliant checkout and never touch our servers. Checkout is embedded in the app, so you’re not bounced off to another site.
How soon do I get Pro after I pay?
Almost immediately. Once Whop confirms your payment, your workspace switches to Pro within a second or two and your next send is unlimited.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There are no contracts and no annual lock-in — you can manage or cancel your subscription anytime through Whop.

Clicks-first analytics

How is “clicks-first” different from traditional newsletter analytics?
Most tools lead with open rates. We lead with clicks. A click is a deliberate action a real reader took — it’s the honest signal of whether your writing landed, so it’s the number we put first.
Do you track opens?
No. Apple Mail Privacy Protection and Gmail’s pixel changes pre-load tracking images and fire fake “opens,” which makes open rate mostly noise. Rather than show you a number you can’t trust, we don’t track opens at all.
So what do you measure?
Clicks — per issue and unique clickers — alongside deliveries, bounces, unsubscribes, and subscriber growth over time. You can also see your active readers: the people actually clicking your links.

Plans, ownership & API

What’s the difference between Free and Pro?
Reach. Free sends each issue to up to 500 subscribers; Pro removes that cap with unlimited sends per issue. Both plans charge 0% platform fees — we never take a cut of your revenue.
Do I own my subscribers and my content?
Always. Your list is yours on every plan, and you can export it anytime. We don’t sell or rent your subscribers, and we don’t insert ads or recommendations into your newsletter.
Is there an API?
Not yet — a public API for programmatic sending and subscriber management is on our roadmap. Today you can import and export by CSV, and everything else lives in the dashboard. Need API or multi-author access sooner? Talk to us.
